Our Story
Smith Collins Academy was founded with a single mission: to make high-quality, personalized education accessible to students who need something more than a traditional classroom can offer.
Before opening our first classroom, our founder began as a homeschool mother—deeply committed to giving her own children a learning experience that honored their unique talents and voices. That early foundation became the seed for a wider vision: to create a school where every student could experience that same kind of individualized, purpose-driven education.

Our journey grew from a small tutoring space inside a German school in Egypt, where our founder worked with students who were often overlooked by mainstream schools. As demand increased, the program evolved into a registered school, operating in the Maadi Library’s American Section—lovingly called “the library school” by its first students. That spirit of creativity, resilience, and community still defines who we are today.

The name Smith Collins is both personal and powerful. It reflects our founder’s family roots and pays tribute to the legendary educator Marva Collins, whose pioneering work transformed classrooms and inspired generations—including our founder herself. Having attended a school based on the Marva Collins method, she experienced firsthand what it meant to love learning and love school. That moment planted the seed for what would one day become Smith Collins Academy.
